Hello, fellow TARCASA members.

Have you been informed by your respective TARCASA reps on our year-end gathering? It’s a time for us to get together and to play some interesting indoor games, as well. There’ll be gift exchanges, balloon-blowing, Musical Chairs, Win,Lose or Draw (Pictionary), performances by members and karaoke sessions.

Interested? The gathering will start at 5.30 am on 27 Dec, 2011 in our Sports Complex.

Day: Friday

Time: 5.30-7.30 p.m (AGM), 7.30-9.30 p.m (Buffet Dinner)

Venue: A026, College Sports Complex (KL Main Campus)

Please pass your reply slips to your respective TARCASA representatives by 21 July 2011. Then, you’ll be given a coupon to be used to claim for your door-gift and to be dropped into our lucky draw box.

Please offer your services or nominate your colleagues as members of the next TARCASA Exco 2011/2013. We need matured, proactive, creative, assertive and courageous people in the team. We need you!

Teacher’s Day Celebration for 2011

TARCASA members in KL Main Campus will be celebrating Teacher’s Day on 7 May 2011 at KLCC Impiana Hotel. It’ll be from 12.30-4.30 pm. Attractive door-gifts will be distributed. Those who are interested can collect their forms from their respective school representatives. The deadline to submit the forms is 3 May 2011.

TARCASA members in Sabah Branch Campus will be celebrating Teacher’s Day, too, on 7 May 2011. It will be at 7.00 pm in Little Italy Restaurant, Capital Hotel, Kota Kinabalu.Those who’re interested should inform Mr. Simon Liew, Sabah’s Branch Representative by 25 April, 2011.

Use of KPI for Calculation of Bonus

Hallo, everyone. The management has started using the KPI in determining our bonus for the year 2010. Recently, we’ve received mixed views (sadly, many negative comments) from our fellow TARCASA members regarding this matter . Please share with us your views.

Updates on Trip

There’re some updates on the trip to Bk. Tinggi.

Our college HR has informed us that they can’t provide college buses for our trip. The reasons are the college buses are too “old” for the uphill climb and they’re usually used for short trips and not for “long” trips like ours.

Don’t worry, things are still under control We’ve managed to charter 2 buses for the trip at reasonable rates. We’re grateful to the TGSU members who have provided us the contact.

We’d like to say a big “Thank you” to TGSU here!

So, TARCASA members out there, pls register for this trip with your school rep! We won’t like to see the efforts invested by everyone in the planning of this trip go to waste.

Indoor and Outdoor Games

Hi! In our last meeting, we’ve thought of organising some games (indoor and outdoor) for our members. They will help us to know each other better and lose weight at the same time.

Bonus & KPI

Yes, we agree with all of your comments.The college needs to provide more details on how the scores given for the staff in each criteria under the KPI is achieved. It cannot be done on an impression method.

We’ll seek for more transparency in our meetings with the management. TARCASA believes in a fair system to measure the performance of the academic staff. If not, the system is open to abuse and manipulation. It will eventually result in much frustration just like what A life working man is experiencing.
